Version 9.7 of EVS and MVS has been released.

This release builds upon Version 9.64 and earlier by fixing known issues in the software and adding additional functionality.

The major highlight of this release was a change in input data formats. Going forward, all analytical data should use the new Analytical Point Data Value (*.apdv) and Analytical Interval Data Value (*.aidv) file extensions instead of the older .csv and .gwc extensions which are now being deprecated. The C Tech Data Exporter has been updated to work with these new file extensions for analytical data.

Please refer to the release notes for further details on the changes in this release.

Current users may download the new release from our downloads page. This release will require your maintenance date to be March 29th, 2012 or later in order to run.

C Tech is pleased to officially announce the release of EnterVol 1.4 which includes all three major components of the EnterVol Product Suite.

Version 1.4 includes many improvements over 1.3.1. First, all major reported issues with 1.3.1 have been corrected, including corrections to data importing, some stability issues dealing with specific data files, and other data manipulation and import improvements. The user interface has been dramatically simplified and improved, allowing for a cleaner, more consistent look throughout the product.

1.4 includes major new features. EnterVol Geology gains the ability to make lithology models directly from the lithology data imported into a project. This allows both block-based lithology models (similar to indicator_geology in EVS and MVS) as well as a new, fully smooth material model, directly from lithology data with no interpretation. EnterVol Tools gained an improved direction indicator tool, which now allows both north arrows and compass rose directional indicators to be added to the scene.

EnterVol offers a complete suite of products for 3D volumetric geologic and analyte modeling in the ArcGIS Desktop Environment.

EnterVol 1.4 can be downloaded at http://www.ctech.com/?page=download.

For those installing EnterVol for the fist time, the software will run for 15 days as a fully functional Trial version.

C Tech will be holding an EVS, MVS, and EnterVol training class on May 7th-11th, 2012 (Monday – Friday). This class will be held in Lubbock, TX at a Texas Tech University training facility.

Monday will be taught using EnterVol, C Tech’s newest product allowing 3D volumetric modeling within ArcGIS. Tuesday through Friday will be taught using EVS and MVS, building upon the initial content on Monday to provide instruction on advanced techniques available using EVS and MVS. EVS or MVS users should plan to attend all 5 days since fundamentals covered on Monday will not be reviewed during the remainder of the week.

This training class is only held once every 4-6 months, so if you are interested in a class this year, please contact C Tech immediately. Payment is required to secure your spot in the class.

The cost is $2,000 per student for the full week training ($1,600 for Premier Program clients… unless using your included classes). Students wishing to attend only Monday’s EnterVol training can do so for a cost of $400. Discounted rates for two or more students from the same organization are available.

Please contact Reed Copsey at 808-447-9751 or sales [at] ctech.com to secure a spot in the class, or to get more information.

A synopsis of the class content is below.

The class prerequisites for Monday are a familiarity with EVS, MVS, or ArcScene. For Tuesday through Friday, the class prerequisites are completion of all EVS and MVS workbooks, and at least 2 weeks (equivalent full time) experience running EVS or MVS. We strongly urge all attendees to review the EVS and MVS workbooks prior to coming to class. This will allow us to conduct the class at an advanced level.

Monday will provide an overview and training of EnterVol. In addition, we will cover the basics fundamentals of 3D, volumetric modeling, including data organization, grid generation, and estimation. Tuesday through Friday will cover the operation of all main modules in EVS-Pro and MVS (Mining Visualization System). Special focus will be given to analytically guided site assessment, geostatistics, advanced geologic modeling, automation and advanced animation concepts. This class is highly recommended for anyone who is more than a casual user of EVS or MVS.

Students are encouraged to bring data and applications from current consulting work to review and work on in class. You can expect significant accomplishments on these projects. A portion of the class time will also be devoted to student projects.

The class will be taught using the most current release or a pre-release version of the software. We will demonstrate all new modules that are in development at the time of the class to assure that the material covered will be up-to-date.

We recommend bringing a laptop computer if you plan on working with your own data, although you may be able to share with other students.

We will provide full licenses of MVS for use during the class. You do not need to bring your company’s EVS or MVS hardware key.

Class will start Monday at 8:30 AM and will be 8-9 hours per day (Mon-Thurs) and will end at 2:30 pm on Friday. Please plan all travel accordingly, allowing for drive time to the airport.

We require advance payment of $2,000 ($1,600 for Premier) for the 5 day class, or $400 for Monday’s EnterVol training, to secure a place in a class.

C Tech is pleased to announce that we are offering substantially extended Trial licenses of our new EnterVol Product Suite to all C Tech customers with current, paid-up maintenance or Premier subscriptions.

All MVS Premier Program customers will receive an EnterVol Product Suite license with 6 servers, each supporting up to 100 users, for a period of 6 months.

All EVS-PRO and MVS customers will receive an EnterVol Product Suite license with 1 or more servers (depending on EVS/MVS license type), each supporting up to 20 users, for a period of 3 months.

Customer wanting to take advantage of this offer should contact sales@ctech.com to arrange for these licenses.

C Tech’s EnterVol is the culmination of four years of development to provide true 3D volumetric modeling in the ArcGIS® Desktop environment. The EnterVol™ product suite is the only ArcGIS based solution that preserves the volumetric nature of volumetric data. EnterVol revolutionizes the management, analysis and display of 3D data and geometry in ArcGIS.

The anchor product, EnterVol for ArcGIS utilizes volumetric geology and/or analyte models created in C Tech’s EVS or MVS (www.ctech.com) software or models created in the EnterVol GeoStats or EnterVol Geology components. It will perform subsetting (plumes, cuts, slices, cross-sections, contouring, etc.) and analysis (volumetrics) inside of ArcGIS. 3D visualization of these models is performed in ArcSceneTM.

EnterVol GeoStats and EnterVol Geology adds true volumetric model creation with chemistry and geology data in ArcGIS and makes full 3D Volumetric Modeling in ArcGIS Desktop a reality.

For more details on the EnterVol Product Suite, please visit entervol.com.
