In order to use EVS for ArcView Extension you must manually install the supplied extension and .dll files located in the ctech\EVSforArcView folder (evs4av.avx & evs4av.dll). You must copy these files into your ESRI\AV_GIS30\ARCVIEW\EXT32 folder.
The simplest way to begin is to launch ArcView (version 3.1 or greater), at which point you will be prompted to Start Using ArcMap with one of three choices. Choose the third choice (an existing map), and browse to select CTECH\EVSforArcGIS\C_Tech_Sample_Project.mxd.
If this is the first time you’ve used EVS for ArcGIS, you will have to add C Tech’s extension to ArcMap. The good news is that once you do this, you’ll never have to do it again and when we update the extension in the future, the update will be automatically installed.
Hit OK to close the window.
If you see the EVS toolbar and the buttons are not inactive (grayed out), installation is complete.
