The simplest way to begin is to launch ArcMap (version 8.1 or greater), at which point you will be prompted to Start Using ArcMap with one of three choices. Choose the third choice (an existing map), and browse to select CTECH\EVSforArcGIS\C_Tech_Sample_Project.mxd.
If this is the first time you’ve used EVS for ArcGIS, you will have to add C Tech’s extension to ArcMap. The good news is that once you do this, you’ll never have to do it again and when we update the extension in the future, the update will be automatically installed.
From the ArcMap pull-down menu, choose Tools&ldots;Customize and you should see the following window.

Click on the "Add from file.." button and browse to the CTECH\EVSforArcGIS folder and choose EVSforArcGIS.dll as shown below.

The message box shown below should appear confirming successful installation.

Make sure to check the box next to EVS for ArcGIS and then hit OK to close the window.
After this, you should see the following screen. If the left frame is different, choose the "Display" tab at the bottom left.
If you see the EVS toolbar and the buttons are not inactive (grayed out), installation is complete.
