Pre-Geology File Creation

The Create Pregeology File tab of the C Tech Data File Creation and Launch Window will automatically select appropriate fields if the naming of each field follows the following guidelines. In all cases field name capitalization can be upper or lower case. If parts of a word are shown in bold, only that portion of the word must be present at the beginning of the field name.

X coordinate field should begin with X or Easting.

Y coordinate field should begin with Y or Northing.

Z coordinate field should begin with Z or Elevation and will automatically assume the data is elevation (vs. depth)

If the Z coordinate field begins with Depth it is assumed to be depth below ground surface and an additional field appears to select Ground Surface.

Boring ID field should begin with Boring (e.g. Bore) or Well. For example if ID was used for the boring or well name, it will be ignored and must be selected manually.

Ground Surface field (if Depth is selected) can begin with Top or Ground or Grnd.

Geologic Unit field must begin with Material or Geologic Unit.
