Geology (.geo) File Creation

The Create Geology File tab of the C Tech Data File Creation and Launch Window will automatically select appropriate fields if the naming of each field follows the following guidelines. In all cases field name capitalization can be upper or lower case. If parts of a word are shown in bold, only that portion of the word must be present at the beginning of the field name.

If the field name is ID or starts with key or starts with primary and ends with key that field is ignored by the selection process.

X coordinate field should begin with X or Easting.

Y coordinate field should begin with Y or Northing.

Top Surface field should begin with Z, Top, Ground or Grnd. (note that this must be in elevation, not depth)

Boring ID field should begin with Boring (e.g. Bore) or Well. For example if ID was used for the boring or well name, it will be ignored and must be selected manually.

Symbols field should begin with Symbol.

All other fields are assumed to be subsurface elevations or depths. If they are depths you MUST set the Surface Coords are Depth Below Top option. If there are extra fields these must be deselected.
